Journey to the Underworld Trip#45

Disclaimer:
I am layman Buddhist/pagan.
The summary is based on what I perceive is 'important' in the book.
Conversation in between Deity JiGong, Yang Sheng and Prison Guard
If there is contradiction of meaning convey, the book prevails.
There are times I might questioning parts of the points inside the book doesn't mean I don't believe it. I need enlightenment on the doubts that I raise.

TOURING "CARRYING STONE SLAB ON HEAD AND CROUCH-WALKING" SMALL PRISON

Narrated by JiGong: To be successful requires diligence and hard work. Things done without much effort will not be successful. Do not procrastinate in anything because those who do will live to regret when they grow old.

Human body can be likened unto aircraft flying. There must be not be any trouble inside the body, if there is, there is bound to be danger, very much like an aircraft falling down into a deep valley and the human body will be smashed beyond recognition. Therefore, must take care of the body. Some souls are sent to Hades/Underworld to be punished because, just for one moment, due to lack of fore-thought, they committed a sin in their lifetime.

Visiting 7th Tribunal - "Carrying Stone Slab on Head and Crouch-walking" small prison.

The souls busy doing work - moving stone slabs. Big slabs of stone being placed on the head, both hands supporting, the body crouching and both legs moving step by step forward. They are sufferring terribly. Some who are not careful enough to let the big slabs fall on their body and they faint away. The guards sprinkle reviving water on them and they revive to lift up the fallen slabs to their head and proceed onwards, crouching all the time.

Narrated by the Guard: When they are alive, they are thick headed and egoistic. Some were school teachers who disrespect their profession. Some were students who did not honor and respect their teachers.

A case of a school teacher

Paid too much attention to girl students and entice them.

Purpose of punishment of carrying stone slab on your head is to make you downcast and ashamed to lift up your head to face people. Therefore advice human beings especially instructors e.g. religious or not, must be regarded as parents and to the students as children, so there must be mutual respect.

A case of religious person

Led a religious life. Read through numerous religious books and being well versed in them. Despise religious superior and began to regard self as superior. Often criticize his religious superior, spoil his good name.

The progress or success of students is mainly due to good instructions of teachers or instructors. Therefore, students should honor and respect teachers. But nowadays, human beings are very selfish an self-opinionated. Their main aim to get money all the time and ungrateful to their teachers. Opening up rival establishments to compete with their teachers/instructors.

A case of well-to-do person

Gift of eloquence. Look down the poor and less fortunate and often use position and eloquence to run down others. Like to talk big.

Remember we should always reserve a certain portion of opportunities on Earth for others, don't be selfish to monopolise. Do not despise others when successful or influential.
