Journey to the Underworld Trip #4

Disclaimer:
I am layman Buddhist/pagan.
The summary is based on what I perceive is 'important' in the book.
If there is contradiction of meaning convey, the book prevails.
There are times I might questioning parts of the points inside the book doesn't mean I don't believe it. I need enlightenment on the doubts that I raise.

This trip is touring on Wan Jiao Gui Zong 萬教歸宗 (literally means multiple faiths as One)

Gate to Ghosts' Home

The door is closed but the souls of dead manage to enter it.

When a person is alive, the door of Earth is open and when he dies, the door of Earth is closed and the door of Ghost Home is open for his soul to enter.

Inside the souls are waiting to be escorted to 10 Tribunals for various stages of trials for what they had done on Earth.

Road is rugged.

  • Causing meaning of true ascetic practice is lost

    • When on Earth, the bodies were of various colors, but after death, only souls come here (bodies of various colors do not come)
    • When in living you attacked each other and had no love for each other, therefore, where is the meaning of universal love and mercy?
    • From beginning of time up to now, the Sun and Moon have been shining on all human beings, both good and evil. They continue to shine on everyone so that their blessings will be on this and future generations
    • Therefore, all hearts must become one heart and must work towards mutual help and love for each other.
    • All religions have doors wide open for those who believe in any particular religion; although founders are different, but ultimate aim is same - to teach all to do good
    • If all of you can discover your own inner most hearts and avoid evil doings only then can you attain happiness, leading eventually, to the creation of a united and happy world
  • The souls (non-Chinese speakers) when die, they become enlightened and understand any language
Fairies and sages are fair. Even different beliefs they will aid you if you need in help - Jigong.

Journey to the Underworld: Trip #1

Okay, today I gonna summarize on the first trip of this book: Journey to the Underworld.

Trip#1 Summary

Travellers: Yang Sheng and Jigong
Destination: Xintou Shan/ Xintou Mountain
Tasks: visit underground and distribute the (this) book about the trips to underground

Xintou Shan

  • Once climb up to the top, one will reach to the Gate of heaven
  • A cave on a side of the mountain, this cave is dark and bottomless, called Cave of Hell

Heart

  • The heart controls a person. The heart can tell one to do good or to do evil.
  • If one does good, the soul will go heaven. Immortal
  • If one does evil, the soul will be sent to hell. Ghost.

Ok, here are my questions if somebody can enlighten me. Xintou Shan is Chinese-based mountain. I am thinking for non-Chinese and upon they die, do they use this route as well?

For Chinese that are outside Taiwan/China, will subject to this place as well?

Review: Journey to the Underworld

Recently I had travelling to Ipoh, visiting Perak Tong. In Perak Tong, there are several Buddhist books which can be taken for free. There is one book that I come across, that is

Sounds interesting as this book depicts Chinese/Buddhist beliefs on underworld. My mum (or grandma) had shown me this book (chinese version) 30 years ago but I forgot it until I visited Perak Tong.

The book narrates the journey of a human travelling to underworld. There are 62 journeys in total. The traveller had compiled his experience throughout this journey inside this book. The journey taken around 1976 to 1978.

I had finished read the book and o man, there are some sins that I had committed. Oh no.

I will summarize the essential points inside this book. For further details, you can visit this website.
