TOURING 10TH TRIBUNAL
VISITING MORALITY CENTRE
BUREAU OF REWARD GOOD SOULS
BUREAU OF PUNISHING THE EVIL

Morality Centre

Teaching and training future deities and saints to be sent to Earth.

For those souls that had merits but not enough merits to justify their souls to ascend to Heaven after death. After the souls gone through required training, they had options:-
1) straight to Heaven
2) sent to Earth as deities and saints to save human beings

Training:
Studying moral lessons. Examined periodically to test the effects and influence of wealth, of beautiful woman, after attaining wealth and desirability to help others.

Only if the heart can remain steady, can be tests be passed.

The tests arranged by fairies.

If fail the tests, have to undergo further training.

Bureau of reward good souls

The souls attended by Good Spirits and appear moving freely without being chained or handcuffed.

For souls that have more merits than demerits and await assessments. The souls are free, have unrestricted movement, can eat and drink, can have discussion among themselves, can play chess.

Bureau of punishing the evil

All souls are handcuffed and escorted by Underworld's guards. For souls who committed sins which were against relationship of human beings. The inner spirit inside a person, or roving day and night spirits, will make records of any misdeeds or sins a person commits daily and report to Underworld.

If the sins are serious, this office will absorb the personal spirit of the evil doer to Underworld for punishment. The body of the person will feel sick, headache, giddiness, uncomfortable, not realising that his soul is being punished in Underworld. After serving punishment, the soul is released and then re-enters his human body, then all sickness disappears.

In some cases, the handcuffed souls are those souls still living in Earth.

Another duty is - the soul after dies, is sent here for punishment while awaiting results of investigation of all Tribunals in Underworld, after that the soul will be sent to the various Tribunals for further punishment.

This office called 'temporarily lock up'.

VISITING THE COMMON PEOPLE'S SECTION

A City. Lots of people moving about. Everyone smiling and in happy mood. Absence of hell guards in this place.

A human being whose merits and de-merits balance, who had no hatred but more love when alive, after death, his/her soul will be sent here.

Life is like in Earth, with merchants and farmers. During his lifetime, it is good person was either a merchant or a farmer, after death his soul will be sent here to be either merchant or a farmer but conditions are not as advanced as on Earth and he has to work hard.

Buildings are made of wood, unlike mansions in Earth, as suitable for souls to stay in wooden buildings.

There are restaurants and shops. There are chaps very much like people on Earth but keep their hair long with old fashioned dress. This section had souls with different generations, and keep their old methods of living.

Although Earth and Underworld are separated, yet the mind is same. What occupation the person had in Earth, he will follow the same occupation after death.

The farmers use manual labor working the farm, no animals or machines. This is because the souls not so lucky like those on Earth, they have to depend on their own hands, sweat and strength to work the farms.

Life
The souls here have three meals (food and drinks). They have seven passions (joy, anger, grief, fear, love, hatred and desire) and six roots of sensation (eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind).

There is marriage in this Section.

They will grow old with age and when the time comes, they are retired and reborn.

Burning of joss paper, candles, joss sticks etc
A square inch of land can be worth an inch of gold. Burning of joss sticks etc, turning into ashes on earth, transforming into gold in this Section. The souls will enjoy the benefits of the joss paper burnt throught their five vitals absorbing vapor. This is exactly like human beings absorbing nourishment for promotion of body growth.

Dream of dead relatives asking for money etc
In Underworld, the souls consume the vapor or fume of food offerings. The souls must do work if not, their energy is lost. Therefore, they asking for food to replenish the lost energy.

Not necessary to burn a lot of joss papers etc. A token burning will meet the case as mark of respect. The reason why the living make offerings in any form to the dead is to show their gratitude and respect to the dead, this is quite alright considering the living are left with money by the dead, the benefits which the dead cannot enjoy.

When the joss papers of different qualities are burnt and arrive in Underworld, there are bound to be many 'returned cheques' which means manufacturers who want to make easy money will have to answer their misdeeds, after they die.

Difference to the sinful souls in Underworld
More freedom. But must obtain permission when they want to visit Earth e.g. 7th month of lunar calendar.

Narrated by JiGong:

I advise humans to engage in regeneration, and learn the ascetic practices so they can acquire knowledge of the truth, and realize that their bodies are all but illusory. They should not hold on to life after death. If they do not mend their ways and lead a path toward spiritual perfection, they will never escape from the cycle of birth and death. They will be entangled in the vicious circle without end.

VISITING THE SIX PATHS OF METEMPSYCHOSIS

Narrated by King Zhuan Lung (10th Tribunal)

So long as mankind and all living things do not discard evil to follow the good, the Wheel of Stages of Transmigration of Souls will continue to be operative and active which means all living things will continue to be unlucky.

Red river, water rolling, like boiling. Vigour and blood of all living things are blended together, exactly like sensual and sexual desires of human beings on Earth, up and down! Up and down!

Huge wheel revolving endlessly in the Red river. The stage of transmigration of souls floating and bouncing up and down in unison with the rolling water, the wheel revolving all the time.

There are six bridges lead to the Six Paths of Transmigration of Souls. There are:

1) Golden Bridge: Those souls who had accumulated much merit when living on Earth, after passing through all the Tribunals in Underworld, given clean passage by Registrar, to go to Paradise/Heaven.

In the case of souls who cultivate Divine Element within themselves, they will ascend to Paradise without use Golden Bridge.

2) Silver Bridge: Those who earn medium merits, after death their souls will be sent to center of perfection in hell for furthering their religious studies and perfecting their regeneration.Once they have passed their examination and learned the canonical books thoroughly, they are authorized to come to the Styx (Cascade of Nine Streams) for purification of their vital energy. Then they will allowed to cross the Bridge as Deity/Spirit for human beings to worship.

3) Jade Bridge: Those who earned some merits, after death, their souls had gone through all Tribunals, will be allowed to be reborn as rich/noble persons.

4) Stone Bridge: Those who had equal measure of merits as well as sins, will be allowed to be reborn as ordinary human beings.

5) Wooden Bridge: Those who had committed more sins than merits, will be reborn as poor, lonely, miserable, destitute, lower strata human beings.

6) Bamboo Bridge: Those who had full measure of iniquity and whose actions were contrary to humanity, murderers, robbers and rapists, destined to be reborn as animals, fowls, fishes, worms.

The souls have eaten the amnesiac soup that erases their former life from their minds. The absorption of this porridge puts them in a state of semi-consciousness, and they jostle each other on the paths allotted to them. Some souls wear costumes of Mandarins, others carry the tools and implements of their work, others have their inkstands and brush-pens. There are also simpletons and souls wearing animals’ furs and horns. Everyone manifests an ardent yearning to go to the terrestrial world.

While in their state of semi-consciousness, they rush blindly toward the Bridges of Jade, Wood, and Bamboo to approach the Reincarnation-Wheel. Some of them fall off the bridge and disappear in the waves.

All creatures are created by the fertilization of the vital breath energy from Yin and Yang. The Reincarnation-Wheel is the pattern of a mixture of the Yin and Yang among humans. When a male and a female are in a state of sexual excitement, their spirits rise in ecstasy, their over brimming sperm and blood are similar to the waves of the Crimson River that push and revolve the Reincarnation Wheel, like a river-current turns the irrigation system with its force. The semi-conscious souls are sucked in by the wheel, following their assigned destinies. In the world, the semen and blood of the two sexes in intercourse form a fetus in the womb of the mother: the vital essence impregnates the embryo until it is born to life, nine months later. At the moment the Reincarnation Wheel heaves it into existence, a wailing is heard from within the wheel of the Crimson River, meanwhile the infant is born, together with spilling blood and water, and its synchronizing cries symbolize its fright when awakening in a totally strange world. That’s the way reincarnation operates.

As regards to the four categories of creatures, namely the viviparous, the oviparous, the aquatic creatures and insects, their birth takes place according to the time that their embryos are nurtured in the Reincarnation Wheel.

The incessant rotation of the wheel often gives the pregnant woman a sensation of nausea. These are the moments when the fetus feels dizzy, like passengers feeling uneasy in a jerky carriage in movement or aboard a plane in flight.

This wheel has the form of the octagonal diagram Pa-Kua, with a circle at the center representing the Great Extreme or the Infinite (Wu-Ki). The same principle and law governs the Reincarnation Wheel that turns and multiplies indefinitely. Inside the wheel, there are six holes for the reincarnated souls.

The first hole is for the souls to be reincarnated into high-ranking dignitaries, noblemen, and titled persons.

The second hole is for future intellectual men, husbandmen, industrialists, and merchants (including poor people, orphans, widows and widowers).

The third hole is for the souls to be transformed into animals (buffalos, horses, dogs...)

The fourth hole will make fowls of the souls.

The fifth hole is for fish, mollusks and crustaceans.

The sixth hole is for insects.

It is thus depending upon their merits and sins for the souls to be categorized among the six above cited groups.

That action is comparable to factories in the world. Manufactured products differ as consistently as raw materials, which are employed to produce them. As a matter of fact, good timber is utilized for solid construction, whereas wood of average quality is used for fuel.

Another explanation of Six Paths of Metempsychosis

1) Devas

The first path leads to Paradise where there are fairies, Buddhas, Deities, Saints
Need not pass through the Six Paths of transmigration.

2) Human
3) Asuras
4) Beasts
5) Hungry Ghosts
6) Hell

There are others like founders of religions, patron saints voluntarily pass through this transmigration to be reborn as human beings in order to teach people to do good deeds and save them.

Advise from King Zhuan Lun:

I sincerely hope all of you will take up ascetic practices as early as possible. Once a soul is lost in Hell, it will be more difficult to save it.

VISIT TO THE 10TH PALACE AND THE LADY MENG’S INN

Narrated by JiGong:

When we stand, we must stand up-right. The body must not bend in any direction. The same applies to human beings - be straightforward, you must not cheat others and you must not set one person against another. You must be helpful to others and must not be lazy so that an example can be shown for others to emulate.

If when standing, you are not steady, so likewise, when sitting or sleeping, you cannot sit or sleep steadily too. Those who want to be ascetic practitioners must have a steady and stout heart, must not show any sign of a wavering heart any time.

Reincarnation Center

Noted people of all races, from Asia and Europe.

A soul must pass through all Tribunals to be judged for their deeds when living on Earth. Hell is like an International Court of Justice. Irrespective of what colour, all souls to be reborn must have evidence that they can be reborn, exactly like those human beings who wish to leave one country for another to have a valid passport.

Bureau Governing Birth

Transmigration Station. Just like human beings waiting at a railway station for the train to arrive. When train is ready to depart, passengers board the carriages and the wheels of the train start; each passengers holds a ticket to go to his destination. The souls at this Station will be brought to their various rebirth destinations.

Inn of Lady Meng

It has the faculty of erasing from the souls’ memory all that is related to their former life and to the time spent in hell.

By order of the Celestial Emperor, she is in charge of having souls consume this soup (amnesiac soup) before their reincarnation. Otherwise, the children born in their new existence will grow up and remember all the facts concerning their former lives. They will search for and find their parents and the members of their families, creating a great disorder in social relations and family ties. More than that, they will locate their foes and take revenge. This soup is a mixture of various flavors (acid, pungent, salted, sweet, bitter) combined in such a way that those consuming it lose all sense of orientation, experience, and fall into one of the six ways of transmigration.

This soup is infatuated soup which makes one's mind confused. Just like liquor, one cannot differentiate between north, south, west and east, so likewise, a soul after drinking this soup, is not truly himself, losing his own wits and wandering aimlessly towards Metempsychosis Station. Drunkards are usually bold, not fearing water or fire, and dare to jump into a deep ocean. After drinking this soup, a soul becomes unable to control himself, proceeds straight to the Metempsychosis Station and only after the effects of the soup are over will he then realise that he is in another World on awakening.

After a sinful soul passed through the various punishments meted out at the various Tribunals, the throat is dry and thirsty and when this Tenth Tribunal is reached, the soul thinks the journey is end and Earth is near. Outside of this Inn, there is hot vapor which makes every soul thirsty and thus urge to quench their thirst. Some of cunning souls who come here refusing to enter into the Inn because they know the effects of drinking this soup. But under the ground an iron hook contraption has the effect of gripping the feet to prevent movement. At the same time, a female attendant nearby forces these cunning souls to drink this soup.

With the given amnesiac effect of the soup, why is it that our babies born now are so prematurely clever? Should we attribute the fact to the mediocrity of the porridge whose properties become weaker?

From time immemorial, the humans have undergone innumerable incarnations. Their transmigrations have been repeated many times; each of them is preceded by a forcible taking of amnesiac porridge. Because they have taken it several times, the souls become immune to its effect, and the expected amnesia is far from absolute. Thus, the intelligence of some present-day babies is quite advanced. Man often calls his stubborn children “demons’ head or demons’ brains”. The repeated use of this undesirable porridge results in acquiring some immunity. This fact, by itself, provides no joy to mankind.

Prematurely smart babies are more likely to adopt vices, and unless they are carefully educated and guided to the right path, they will do more harm to society than normally clever babies do. This is the reason the living world counts an ever-increasing number of harmful and unreliable people who use their brains for doing evil. The cleverer they are, the more easily they deviate from the right path. An unusual intelligence, therefore, is most undesirable.
