Disclaimer:
I am layman Buddhist/pagan.
The summary is based on what I perceive is 'important' in the book.
Conversation in between Deity JiGong, Yang Sheng and Prison Guard
If there is contradiction of meaning convey, the book prevails.
There are times I might questioning parts of the points inside the book doesn't mean I don't believe it. I need enlightenment on the doubts that I raise.
TOURING THE MOUTH-PIERCING PRISON
In one's life there must be occasion of sorrow, happiness, anger, meeting and parting. It is not easy to be involved in ascetic practices. One must maintain sincere, free and easy heart and also perform moral deeds. It is useless to speak morality without practicing it.
Human beings' hearts are not the same and their intentions also different, as well as their speech.
This prison under control of Fourth Tribunal.
Souls are strapped to pillars and the Guards using sharp skewers pierce the cheeks with great force.
A case of a singer
In order to retain interest of audience and customers, sing indecent and obscene songs, suggestive gestures and mimics. Sing decent and patriotic songs, not dirty and obscene songs.
A case of a wife
Bad temper, quarrel with husband, cursing heaven and earth. Also quarrel with neighboring womanfolk.
Instigating neighbors to quarrel thereby breaking up their families.
Spread unfounded rumors on affairs.
A case of a son of Physician
Father was Chinese Physician. Observe and pick methods of practicing medicine.
Took over business when father die, told patients that had acquired knowledge of curing patients, and able to cure all sorts of illness.
Collect money in advance to acquire herbs. Resist to give prescription and advice patients to buy ready made medicines instead. Make good profits by selling ready made medicine.
Sin of charging too much and thus damaging morality.
Things to ponder:
1. Human must stop telling lies and talking bad about others behind their backs
2. Women and girls must be gentle and virtuous
3. Do not instigate other families
4. Do not scold elders behind their backs
